iPhone 5 to launch on 7 August
iPhone 5 will use thinner and lighter screen
If KnowYourMobile's
'reliable industry source' is to be believed, the illustrious iPhone
5's launch date is 7 August. The news contradicts the general
expectation of an autumn launch of September or October.

The source was unable to reveal any other details about the launch or
the iPhone 5's specifications. The smartphone will debut
Apple's iOS 6 operating system but the date of 7 August doesn't match the fact Apple said the OS will be released in the autumn.
Last week we reported that the iPhone 5 had gone up for pre-order in China
despite Apple not even announcing the handset. Sellers are accepting
orders for well over $1,000 touting various specifications but no
delivery date.
iPhone 5 will use thinner and lighter screen
Apple's upcoming iPhone 5 will use new screen technology allowing it to be thinner and lighter.
According to the report, the panel is being mass produced by display
makers Sharp and Japan Display Inc, a firm merging three Japanese
electronics manufacturers' display units as well as LG Display.
